| Chianti is the result of the vinification of the traditional grapes which are used to make Chianti; namely Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Canaiolo and Malvasia. These are macerated using their skins with a series of repeated marc pouring operations from above and below. It is made to age for a period of one year in oak casks and is brought onto the market after a further period of bottle refinement of at least four months. | |
