It is a San Gimignano Red D.O.C. . A “Supertuscan” with at least 5 years of ageing, born to break away from the classic patterns linked to other territories and other blends. A rich full-bodied Sangiovese aged for over 1 year in barrique, blended with the soft and mellow Merlot and with the Cabernet Sauvignon harvested in Pietrafitta. It is the Estate’s leading red wine. Characterized by a memorable label, it symbolizes the breaking away from tradition and from conventional labelling.
It stems from the selection of the best Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, vinified after a persistent maceration on the skins with repeated punching down and pumping over. It ages one year in oak barrels of various sizes and it is offered to the public after a further refinement in the bottle of at least four months.
